Instrument Maintenance or Restoration
Basic:
Instrument Setup (all stringed instruments)
Re-string instrument or re-hair bow
Correcting string height: nut and bridge (setup)
Correcting sound post (violin): position or if fallen
Minor corrections to the playability of the instrument: uneven frets or fingerboard leveling
Minor correction to neck bow (guitar truss rod)
Clean: Remove dirt/finger oil/rosin buildup. Polish all metal parts, polish instrument body (abrasive or french polish)
Minor service should take less than 1 day to complete
Most likely cost less than $150 with a billing rate of $50/hr
Intermediate
Replace nut or bridge:
Acoustic guitar - Bone (unless otherwise specified) nut and bridge
Electric guitar - discuss nut material and bridge/saddle style
Violin - ebony nut or curly maple carved bridge or ebony saddle
Replace acoustic guitar saddle
Fretwork: replacing frets, fret leveling
Replacing tuning machines or tuning pegs
Replace pickguard (acoustic or electric guitar)
Replace pickups
Troubleshoot Electronic issues
Intermediate repair expected to take less than 1 week to complete
